What to Expect
In the week prior to the in-person cannabis-assisted breathwork circle, you will attend a virtual group preparation meeting. Discussion will include risks & benefits, what to expect, self-care leading up to the intervention, confidentiality, intention setting, & any questions that you might have.
The cannabis-assisted breathwork circle will take place at Strength in Heart counselling (1183 Fort St, Victoria, BC V8L 1L3) On Sunday February 11th at 1:00 PM PST. The in office session will last about 3 hours & will follow the format below:
Introductions, orienting to the space, selecting place in the circle, briefly going over what was discussed in the preparatory virtual meeting, questions
Intention-setting, journaling, stretching
Cannabis ingestion
Guided meditation
Music set journey
Returning guided meditation
Closure integration: Snacks, self-care, journaling, etc.
What to bring
Water bottle
Eye covering
Yoga mat & blanket, possibly a bolster or pillow
Wear loose, comfortable clothing
workshop includes
Initial virtual intake interview (30 minutes)
Virtual group preparation meeting (60 minutes)
In person cannabis assisted breathwork circle (3 hours)
Virtual group follow up/integration meeting (60 minutes)
Possible Experiences
Common general effects of cannabis-assisted breathwork in a therapeutic group setting includes:
Visual proprioception (increased awareness of physical body, often creating a form of synesthesia that combines our visual perception with proprioception
Deep muscle relaxation leading to energetic discharges and trauma resolution… profound new levels of nervous system regulation
Capacity to travel through memory; increased awareness of mental habits, judgements, and anxieties leading to resolutions of unhealthy processes
Deeper awareness of emotional processes and activation of emotional discharges, leading to release and healing
